Set up SBI branch at Kakching Khunou Keithel, urge vendors

Kakching, August 17 2024: Women vendors of Kakching Khunou Keithel staged a protest today demanding establishment of State Bank of India (SBI) branch at the market.

According to the protestors, Kakching Khunou Keithel is a commercial hub where people from 15 nearby villages carry out trade and other businesses to eke out a livelihood.

As such, the marketplace is a suitable place to set up the SBI branch.

They also expressed strong opposition to shifting the upcoming SBI branch to another location.

Stating that banks should be set up at appropriate locations where people gather, the protestors maintained that Kakching Khunou Keithel is the right site for the establishment of the SBI branch and added that this will be in the interest of both the bank and the local people it seeks to service.
