Noney scribes body celebrates foundation day

The 2nd Foundation Day of Noney District Working Journalists' Union (NoDWJU) was held on Tuesday at Longmai, Noney district headquarters.
The event was attended by Napoleon Rongmei, DFO Noney, as chief guest.
G Pouhoilung, president NoDWJU, and Jonathan Gangmei, chairman Development Committee of Longmai Part-3, also present as functional president and guest of honour, respectively.
The NoDWJU president and secretary highlighted NoDWJU's formation and its role in the society.
During his speech, chief guest Napoleon Rongmei expressed his heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the media fraternity for their role as the fourth estate in national building.
He also mentioned the function of media in shaping the nation as a link between the judiciary and the legislature.
Napoleon took note of the grievances of journalists who work around the clock, even during times of crisis.
He assured that he will contribute to the construction of NoDWJU's own office block and press club at Longmai, Noney Dist HQ to the best of his ability.
The chief guest also encouraged media persons in the Noney district to publish daily newspapers to cater to the needs of the general public benefit and to also publish government's notifications.
He went on to say that he will offer the essential requirements for the establishment of a media publishing house in Noney Bazar.
Napoleon Rongmei also promised a temporary office for NoDWJU to improve their everyday performance.
Various CSO leaders and NoDWJU officials attended the meeting, including general secretary Agui Kamei, vice-president CK Thuanrei, and treasurer Blessing Gangmei.
