Jiribam (Imp East), October 25 2016:
The Barak Brothers' Union, Jiribam, has warned contractors against repairing the Netaji High School Playground helipad to Borobekra police station stretch of JT road.
The union in a statement issued by its general secretary D Lomsang said the PWD is trying to repair only the 800 meters stretch of JT road from the helipad to Borobekra police station in connection with the Chief Minister's visit.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi will be arriving at Jiribam on October 30 to inaugurate Borobekra Police Station.
The union through the statement, has issued a stringent warning to all the contractors concerned not to repair only a portion of the road.
The BBU, it said, feels it necessary that the Chief Minister experience the bumpy, potholed roads to understand the hardships endured by the people of the Barak circle.
The union has also appealed to the Chief Minister to visit the Borobekra PHC during his visit and see the condition of the only PHC in the area.
