Ukhrul Talkies inaugurated

Putting an end to years of speculation and waiting, Ukhrul Talkies was finally opened to the people of Ukhrul.
Brigadier AK Pandey, VSM, Commander 10 Sector Assam Rifles dedicated the Cinema Hall to the local people in a function organised at Ukhrul Post of 41 Assam Rifles today.
The Commander reaffirmed commitment of Assam Rifles to bridge the gap with civilians, and work together for the betterment of the society.
Various civil dignitaries and people from all walks of life were present on the occasion.
The cinema hall is being opened with an aim to increase interaction and relation between Assam Rifles and locals to facilitate harmonious relationship and forge deep bonds.
A stone to commemorate dedication of the Cinema Hall was unveiled by the chief guest.
This was followed by a short cultural programme.
Thereafter, the first movie expendable was screened for the exuberant locals.
Another movie was screened later in the day.
The shows can be increased depending on the response from the local population.
On this occasion a stall 'Know Your Assam Rifles' was also exhibited, with an aim to motivate the youth to join the armed forces.
