State Bank of India (SBI) , Nonei inaugurated

The first branch of State Bank of India (SBI) in Longmai Area has been inaugurated by Commander 9 Sector Assam Rifles Brig Navneet Kumar, at Nonei today.
The Commander dedicated the branch to the civil population and the brave troops of Assam Rifles who share the hardships of living in some of the remotest areas in North East India which have been deprived of the privileges of banking facilities, conveyed a PRO IGAR (S) release.
It is said that Zeliangrong Union president Amu Kamei also played a key role in establishing liaison and coordinating various issues which resulted in early opening of the SBI Branch at Nonei.
On this occasion, the new Durga Mandir built by troops of 10 Assam Rifles was also inaugurated by Brig Navneet Kumar, during which Brass Band and Jazz Band of 10 AR along with a dance troupe of young students from Longmai Area provided cultural extravaganza for all present.
The inauguration was attended by about 100 civilians along with the troops of 10 AR.
Among others, James Thatlina, AGM RBO SBI and Amu Kamei were also present on the occasion.
The civilians thanked the Assam Rifles, Amu Kamei and the SBI for this wonderful gift as this facility is a dawn to further development in the area, the PRO release added.
