IMPEX 2015 begins at MU

Secretary (Tourism) Nidhi Mani Tripathi released a special cover on Siroi Lily during inaugural session of IMPEX 2015, a philately exhibition of the Postal Department at the Centenary Hall of Manipur University today.
Speaking at the occasion, Nidhi Mani said that Department of Posts is making wonderful efforts in the areas of social concerns like empowerment of woman and betterment of girl child through its schemes like Sukanya Samridhi Yojana, said a statement.
She mentioned that the exhibition was an additional link in the endeavours of making people aware about benefits available for better future of girl child.
Vinod Kumar, Director (Posts), Manipur said that a good number of philatelists and students of various schools of Imphal are displaying their unique collections in this three-day exhibition which is having themes of social security especially Beti Bachao Beti Padao and Wildlife protection.

She was really grateful that a special cover was being released on Siroi Lily and expressed the importance of Postal Department in spreading the awareness for the protection of natural resources.
Artistes of Song and Drama Division, Manipur performed various dances of India and to spread the message of women empowerment and wild life conservation through songs and play.
Extravaganza items like magic show and mixed dance received maximum applause from the audiences.
A series of unique postage stamps were shown to the gatherings.
As a special gesture to the specially challenged children, twenty children from Spastic Society of Manipur, Imphal were also invited to the exhibition and many rare stamps were displayed and explained to them.
