KSA urges Govt to pay equal attention to all schools

The Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) has pointed out that the condition of N Tomchou Higher Secondary School located at Mayang Imphal in Imphal West district has been deteriorating.
Speaking to reporters today at KSA office on Sega Road here, Academic and Community Affairs secretary of the students' body, Bidyananda Sukham drawn the attention of the Government to pay adequate attention to schools located in far-flung areas.
He said a team of the students' body conducted a spot visit to N Tomchou Higher Secondary School today.
Among the 25 PCs provided to the school, only 13 Monitors and 12 CPUs were found, Bidyananda pointed out.
He also added that two ceiling fans in Class XI (Sc) room, one fan each in Class XII (Sc), Class IX and Class X rooms were found missing.
The Principal has also been alleged of misappropriating Students' Union fund besides alleged irregularities of many of the staff of the school, he said.
None of the infrastructure including toilet were in usable condition, Bidyananda said.
No chowkidar has been appointed as replacement since the chowkidar of the school retired, he said while also adding that the library remained locked since long back.
He demanded that the Government should pay equal attention to schools located within Imphal area and that of other districts.
