Transgender activist Malem Thongam has submitted a memorandum to Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Satyabrata demanding a response within 7 days to explain why the House has failed to takeup fitting action against the Kuki MLAs asking for separate administration.
She cautioned that an "anti-BJP" campaign will be launched from the eighth day if the necessary feedback is not issued within the stipulated time period.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club on Friday, Malem Thongam shared that similar written requests/memoranda were submitted to the Speaker on September 27 and December 17 .
She submitted the memorandum for the third time on December 26 as no response was given so far.
As part of the proposed "anti-BJP" campaign, she is prepared to forgo all benefits she receives from the Government, asserted Malem Thongam.
Maintaining that she will also try to submit the memorandum to the Chief Minister, the transgender activist added that she will march to his office and handover the memorandum if she is not granted an audience.
This will mark the first part of the "anti-BJP" campaign, she said.
It is worth noting that the transgender activist had previously submitted written requests to the Chief Minister, BJP president and Assembly Speaker urging them to take action against the Kuki MLAs but her appeals went unheeded.
