Imphal, August 26 2024: In the last 24 hours, security forces recovered one 9mm Pistol along with magazine, one HE-36 hand grenade, ten live ammunition rounds and one Smoke Grenade from Waithou area in Thoubal district, said Manipur Police Control Room in a statement today.

The situation in the State was under control with security measures taken up in vulnerable areas, said the police.

Movement of 84 vehicles along NH-2 with essential items has been ensured.

Strict security measures have been taken up in all vulnerable locations, and security convoy is being provided in sensitive stretches in order to ensure free and safe movement of the vehicles, the police said.

Further, a total of 105 checkpoints have been installed in different districts, in the hills and the valley.

Police detained 173 persons for violation of restrictions.
