Awareness programmes against drugs, narcotic substances organised

A one-day awareness programme on the topic of "Drug Abuse Prevention" was held for students at Lamding Higher Secondary School, Lamding.
The programme was jointly organised by Eramdam Ningol Yaiphakol (ERANYAI) and State Level Co-ordinating Agency (SLCA), Manipur under the aegis of the National Institute for Social Defence (NISD) and Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Government of India, New Delhi.
As a part of the programme, symposiums on 10 different topics were organised for Class IX, X, XI and XII students.
The event was attended by Aheibam Basantakumar, Heikham Sunildra Luwang, District Resource Person, Link Worker Scheme, RVS Wangbal and Keidongbam Malemnganbi Devi, Project Co-ordinator, Eramdam Ningol Yaiphakol, RVS.
Separately, Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) organised an awareness programme on "Effects of illicit substances on society and society's role in uprooting the menace" at Hiyanglam Mayai Leikai Community Hall under Kakching district yesterday.
The programme was attended by Ningthoujam Doren, vice-president Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol Head Office; Elangbam Thambalngoubi, secretary, Hiyanglam Mayai Leikai Chaokhat Khongthang Nupi Marup and Sorokhaibam Nena, president, Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol Kakching District Committee as presidium members.
Meanwhile, Geetchandra Mangang, secretary general Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol Head Office and Ningthoujam Dipanjit, vice-president Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol Head Office were present as resource persons.
