Imphal, November 14 2017:
Representatives of the Manipur Government Services Federation (MGSF) held a meeting with Chief Minister N Biren for about 3 0 minutes and they claimed that the Chief Minister hinted at implementation of the 7th Pay.
A 12-member team of MGSF led by its president Dr N Rajendra met Chief Minister N Biren this evening and they urged the Chief Minister to implement the 7th Pay with regard to State Government employees and pensioners at the earliest.
They also urged the Chief Minister to revoke suspension orders of the five employees who were suspended for taking part in mass casual leave strike undertaken on October 25 in pursuit of the same demand.
Responding to their demands, Biren stated that the State Government has no intention to deny 7th Pay to its employees and pensioners.
However, the State Government has no clear idea about the amount that would be needed in paying the 7th Pay as the fitment committee has not yet submitted its report.
Informing that the fitment committee may submit its report by November 18 at the latest, the Chief Minister assured that the State Government would lobby with the Central Government to provide additional funds in order to meet extra expenditures necessary for payment of 7th Pay as soon as the fitment committee submit its report.
7th Pay would be implemented for sure.
It is only a matter of time, Biren stated apart from ensuring that the suspension orders of the five employees would be revoked soon.
The Chief Minister instructed the Principal Secretary (Education) to revoke the suspension orders without any condition, further conveyed MGSF, while speaking to reporters.
