AVBD to organise blood donation camps at Chandel, Ukhrul

Imphal, July 11 2013: As a part of the ongoing observance of No-Replacement Month, Association of Voluntary Blood Donors, Manipur (AVBD) has informed that it would hold the first ever voluntary blood donation camp (VBD Camp) at Indoor Stadium, Chandel District headquarters on July 12 at 9.30 am.

According to a press statement of AVBD, the said voluntary blood donation camp is being organised by the Association with its Chandel District Branch in close coordination with Chandel District Administration including Police Administration, District Health Authorities, 20 Assam Rifles and other stakeholders like Chandel NGO Forum who are working in and around Chandel with support from Manipur AIDS Control Society and State Blood Transfusion Council-Manipur.

A motivational talk on voluntary blood donation will be arranged alongside the Camp being organised by District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit, Chandel District with technical support from AVBD, it stated and added that similar and the first ever VBD Camp will be held simultanously at Youth Hostel, Ukhrul District headquarters on July 13 at 9.30 am.

The VBD Camp at Ukhrul is being organised by AVBD in close coordination with District Health Authorities, and Nehru Yuva Kendra, Ukhrul with sponsorship from MACS and SBTC-Manipur.

A motivational talk will be organised by DAPCU, Ukhrul District with technical support from AVBD, the statement said.
