The JAC against the torture by URF Chingkheinganba group
Napet Palli today held a public meeting at Napet Palli Mamang
Leikai LP School ground, which was participated by different civil
society organisations of the State like AMUCO, UCM, COHR,
AMKIL, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur, and
Chingmi-Tammi Apunba Lup.
The meeting was called as a result
of counter allegations made through electronic and print media by
URF leader Chingkheinganba and urged the authority concerned
to remove the URF cadres from the designated camp at Napet Palli
LP School within 3 days counting from today and in the event of
failure, JAC will be compelled to launch agitation in association
with different civil society organisations of the State.
It has demanded to disarm the URF cadres or the Govern-
ment should provide arms to the villagers if they are unable
to disarm them and to start normal functioning of the LP
school after removing the designated camp.
It also said that after the removal of URF camp, should any
untoward incident were to happen to the villagers, the Gov-
ernment and URF will be held responsible, said a press release
issued by the convenor of JAC.
