To provide a means of earning livelihood, women inmates of Leimaram Government High School relief camp have been provided weaving looms and yarns.
The weaving materials were distributed following a meeting between displaced womenfolk and Chief Minister N Biren Singh at his Secretariat recently.
Taking to Facebook, Chief Minister N Biren Singh expressed his happiness on the distribution of the weaving materials and said, "the initiative is a vital step towards providing them with the means to rebuild their lives and achieve self-reliance" .
"I am glad to see that the women of the relief camp at Leimaram Government High School have received the necessary yarn, following the distribution of weaving looms and other essential materials.
This initiative is a vital step towards providing them with the means to rebuild their lives and achieve self-reliance," said the CM on Facebook.
"Through several schemes, such as the CM Yarn Scheme and the Muga Silk Buyback initiative, we are working tirelessly to create employment opportunities and empower our people," the CM added.
