ABOUT 32,369 voters�15,286 males and 17,083 females�of 27-Moirang assembly constituency will cast their votes to elect their representative from 7 am to 4 pm today.
The authorities have made all necessary security arrangements for smooth polling.
All 37 pollings stations are being treated as sensitive.
No state security personnel will be deployed at all the polling stations.
BSF and CRPF personnel will be deployed at the polling stations, according to state election authorities.
The teams of the BSF and CRPF personnel have been divided in 43 sections.
A team of 10 personnel will man each polling booth.
Each polling booth will also be guarded by two male and three female unarmed security personnel.
Police commandos will provide back up security by conducting mobile patrol on the raods of Moirang AC.
However, the police commandos will not be allowed to enter the polling booth.
Five polling pesonnel will supervise the polling at each booth.
There will be restriction of entry by any unauthorised person within the radius of 100 meters around each polling station.
The voters may enter only the polling booth where he/she is allowed to cast vote after proper identification, the election authority said.
The polling personnel and paramilitary personnel who would be deployed at the polling stations have reached their respective destinations, sources said.
The by-election Moirang AC has been necessitated by the untimely death of the sitting MLA Mairembam Manindra.
Son of the late MLA, Mairembam Prithviraj is contesting on Congress ticket, and son of former minister Hemam Nilamani, H Bira, on MPP ticket, is vying for the seat.
In the last election of 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly, the Congress candidate M Manindra won the election by securing a total of 9,340 votes.
Md Hesamuddin of NCP polled 5,908 votes, Noor Rahman of CPI secure 2,068 while M Ashok of RJD secured only 1,564 votes.
The counting of the votes will be carried out at the office of Bishnupur DC on December 30.Personnel of BSF and CRPF in six sections have already begun protecting the office area.
