Kiyanilie confident of hat trick this election

Nagaland Speaker Kiyanilie Peseye, who is fighting in a triangular fight on NPF ticket in the 8 Western Angami Assembly Constituency, said he was confident of retaining his seat for the third term.
He said he had done maximum developments for not only his constituency people but also scarified for the cause of the Naga people.
Peseye won for the first time in 2003 10th Nagaland Assembly election and became Speaker of the Assembly.
Again he won in 2008 11th Nagaland Assembly election for the second time and became Speaker for the record second time consecutively.
"I am one of the longest serving Assembly Speakers in the country," he said.
Talking to media here Wednesday, the Speaker who was Convener of the Joint Legislature Forum (JLF) said they met leaders of various underground groups and had series of discussions with them and also explained them the urgency of coming together among them for peace in their land.
"To certain extent, our meeting with leaders of various Naga underground groups and discussing with them the importance of coming together for peace and settlement of the Naga issue once and for all was one of our greatest achievements," Peseye said.
He also said although he, as Speaker of the Assembly, did not have many facilities to look after his constituency people but he had initiated various projects in road, employment and health sectors, besides up-gradation of almost all the schools in his constituency areas.
"My constituency is one of the most developed ones," he said exuding confidence of coming out victorious for the third time in a row in the coming Assembly elections slated for February 23 .
