GOC visits SoO camp, assures help

GOC Red Shield Division Maj Gen KK Sinha assessed condition of the Kuki Revolutionary Army (KLA) and Kuki Revolutionary Front (KRF) at T-Gamnom village in his maiden visit to the designated camp of the suspension of operation signatories on January 16 .
The leaders of both the SoO groups expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the GOC for his visit and extended a very warm traditional welcome, said a PIB (DW) statement issued today adding that they discussed various issues pertaining to SoO extension, which expired on November 22 last and infrastructure development in the camp.
The GOC assured them to provide help under the Military civic action programme and improve the living conditions.

Pointing out that the youth are future of nation, Maj Gen Sinha emphasised on need for vocational training course for the cadres residing in the camp to facilitate bringing back the cadres into the mainstream and enable them live a respectable life in the society.
The Kuki armed organisations, visibly overwhelmed by the visit, presented traditional gifts to the GOC through its general secretary.
Later, interacting with newspersons, Maj Gen Sinha informed that he would appraise the State govt about the aspirations of the leaders and cadres of these camps.
He also expressed confidence that imparting vocational training to the young KRA and KLA cadres would enable them sustain a respectable livelihood in the near future.
