Police apprehend UG cadres of different groups

Imphal, October 28 2016:
Six cadres of three different underground militant groups were arrested by Imphal west district Police and Thoubal district Police from different location in the last 24 hours.
According to a reliable source, a team of Imphal West district police under the supervision of Th Vikramjit, Additional SP, Operation, led by Inspector Thangiampou OC, Imphal West Commando carried out a search operation in Thangmeiband Tarung Khun area after receiving information about the presence of some anti-social elements.
During the search operation a self-style corporal of NSCN-IM identified as Poujok Adaho alias Alison Kamei (41), s/o (L) Aguisingpou Kamei of Tarung Khun was arrested by the Police team at around 5.30 pm yesterday.
The arrested NSCN-IM cadre revealed that he joined NSCN-IM through one DK Pamei of Laimanai in the year 1993 .
The same team of Imphal West district police also arrested one active cadre of KCP (MJC) from Khwairamband Ima Keithel at around 3.50 pm and recovered one mobile phone handset.
The arrested KCP (MJC) cadre has been identified as Konthoujam Kuber (43), s/o K Mera of Konthoujam Lairembi Leikai.
He was allegedly working under the command of one Tamo of KCP (MJC).
Investigations revealed that he was involved in serving demand letters to different oil pumps and businessmen.
The Imphal West district police also arrested 2 cadres of Hmar National Army from Keishampat-Churachandpur parking at around 9.30 pm.
Two mobile handsets were seized from their possession.
The arrested HNA cadres have been identified as Lalrinchhana alias Rinchhans alias Emmanuel alias Sam (28), s/o Zabiekthanga of Khawmoi of Churachanpur and Lalsangzoul Joute (34), s/o (L) Lal Joute of Sawlhep Veng Mamit District, Mizoram.
Lalsangzoul Joute revealed that he had joined the organization through one NG Damgon, a self style president of HNA in the year 2010.On June, 2016, he was involved in the killing of Lalthansang Intoat, former president of HNA, sources said.
The same team of Imphal West District Commando arrested another active member of NSCN-IM from his residence at Haotal near Sainik School early morning today.
One single barrel gun and a mobile handset have been recovered from his possession.
The apprehendee has been identified as Laishram Abung alias Priyochand (38), s/o (L) Shyamkanhai of Haotal near Sainik School.
He was working under the command of one Yendrenbam Bomel alias Solomon (38), of Haotal presently staying at Dimapur.
Investigations revealed that he was involved in extortion of huge amount of money from businessmen, transport and travel agencies for the outfit.
On the other hand, Thoubal District Police carried out a search operation at Yairipok Bamon Leikai and arrested one active cadre of NSCN-IM.
According to a reliable information, a team of Thoubal District Police under the supervision of N Modhunimai, Additional SP, Operation, Thoubal, led by Inspector P Achouba, OC, Thoubal, carried out a cordon search operation at Yairipok Bamon Leikai at noon today.
During the search operation, one active cadre of NSCN-IM identified as Pingmeiso Shimbrui alias Asho (51), s/o Laiching Shimbui of Yeasom village of Ukhrul district was arrested.
The arrested person revealed that he joined the outfit in the year 2010 through one self-style major Shinmi.
Pingmeiso also revealed that he use to provide information about the movements of security forces and transport incriminating documents from the NSCN-IM head quarters at Hebron.
The police team seized one red Santro car bearing registration number Mn07D/ 1420 and some incriminating documents related to the NSCN-IM.
All the arrested cadres and active members of different underground outfits have been handed over to the concern police station along with the seized items.
In the meantime, a statement issued by the PRO Police Department said the District Police Commando, Bishnupur arrested one NSCN-IM cadre from the residence of one Mala Panmei (41), d/o Panchmeichei Panmei of Wainem village, during a search operation held yesterday.
The apprehendee has been identified as Apam Shaijza alias Mapangthei alias MH (49), s/o (L) Mahami of Chadong village, Ukhrul.
Investigations revealed that he was involved in many unlawful activities of the NSCN-IM.
A case has been registered at Bishnupur police station.
