Imphal to host admission seminars for entrance into FTII and SRFTI

In a golden opportunity for those individuals who are willing to make a career or make it big in the world of cinema and television, here's a great news.
India's two most reputed centres of film and television education are conducting "Admission Seminars" for the 2018 session in Imphal, according to a report released by the Manipur State Film Development Society.
For the first time in Manipur, the Film & Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune and the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute and (SRFTI), Kolkata - the two most reputed centres of film and television education - will be conducting "Admission Seminars" for academic session 2018 in Imphal.
Affiliated under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, these two institutes have announced the Joint Entrance Test (JET) for 2018 admissions, in which the all-India test will be on February 18 at 26 centres across the country, which includes Imphal in Manipur.
As this is the first time that both institutes have come together for a common entrance test, FTII is conducting admission seminars in various locations across the country.
Such seminars will generate awareness about the JET.
The newly introduced courses on offer will also provide an opportunity to prospective candidates to seek clarifications from FTII representatives who will be addressing such seminars.
This year FTII is also making special efforts to increase entrance test enrolment in regions such as Manipur, where the candidate turnout is traditionally low.
FTII aims to attract maximum participants to these Seminars so that a large number of prospective candidates from Manipur get an opportunity to take the JET exam.
The admission seminar in Imphal will be held at Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), Palace Gate, Imphal on January, 12 (Friday) from 3 pm to 5 pm.
Sudipto Acharya, assistant professor, direction and screenplay Writing, FTII will be conducting the seminar where he will speak on multistage selection process of the JET exam.
It can be mentioned that multiple national and international award-winning Manipuri filmmaker Haobam Paban Kumar is an alumnus of the SRFTI, Kolkata.
