Biren launches 'Go To Village ' Mission : CM stresses on human oriented politics

Imphal, May 02 2018: Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that 'human oriented politics' is the foremost principle of the present Government and the Government is committed to deliver good governance and to bring inclusive development in the State.

This was stated by him at the launching of 'Khungang Chatse Mission' (Go To Village Mission) held at Konuma Ground, Laphupat Tera Komlakhong GP, Imphal West yesterday.

Speaking.as chief guest of the function, the Chief Minister said that politicians should refrain from doing politics that affects the lives of the people.

"We shouldn't give sufferings and pains to the people of the State," he added.

The Government doesn't belong to any political party, it belongs to the people and is for the people.

Stressing that the Government endorses Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' collective effort towards inclusive growth, the Chief Minister said that the Government believes in treating everyone fairly and equally to bring inclusive development in the State.

Biren said that the mission "Go to Village" was evolved through a series of discussions and meetings with bureaucrats and HoDs of various departments.

Stating that the present Government would work for the welfare of the people, Chief Minister assured that every possible help will be extended to uplift the lives of the people.

He said that such a mission would create an opportunity to build a bright future of the people of the State.

Since 1972, there has been democratically elected Governments, however there has been a minimal positive change in the State, he added.

Welfare schemes and benefits meant for the poor and needy people weren't given systematically for the last many years, he added.

Stating that "Go to Village" Mission is being launched simultaneously in 60 villages in all 60 Constituencies across the State today, the Chief Minister said that under the new mission, the Government would identify the eligible and deserving beneficiaries and would deliver services at their doorstep.

He mentioned that a review meeting would be held next week with all the officials to assess the requirements and data collected from the camps.

He mentioned that there are 2515 census villages in the State and the data collection of the requirements of such village would be completed in 11 months.

He appealed the people of the State to come forward and gain the benefits being provided under the mission.

Secretaries, Commissioners, Principal Secretaries and Additional Chief Secretaries have been relieved from normal file works and are entrusted to concentrate mainly on policy formulation and execution of such kind of initiatives.

While mentioning the alarming rise of stone cases and Cancer among the people of the State, the Chief Minister announced that the Government would set up a dedicated Cancer hospital and a general hospital to deal with such health problems soon.

A high end laboratory would be established to examine the causes of such health problems, he added.

The Chief Minister mentioned that the present Government has introduced many welfare schemes such as CMHT to provide affordable healthcare, CMST for providing financial assistance to aged and differently-abled persons, 'Lairik tamhanlasi' scheme to provide school uniforms, textbooks etc for school dropout students, Ujwala scheme to provide free LPG connection to women etc.

Speaking on the occasion, Member of Parliament K Bhabananda said that though village is the backbone of the State, it has been neglected so far by the previous Governments.

He stated that Chief Minister N Biren Singh's initiative 'Go to the Hills' rooted out the mistrust and misunderstanding among various communities of the State.

'Go to Village' is an innovative idea to deliver Government services at people's doorstep.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister distributed welfare assistance to beneficiaries under various Departments such as construction of individual household latrines, soil health cards, paddy seeds, weaver cards, sewing machines, CMST cheques, ULBs for implementation of PMAY(Urban) etc.

He also inspected various stalls and counters of various departments " and banks.

He along with other dignitaries took part in the tree plantation around the Konuma Ground.

Deputy Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly K Robindro Singh, Chief Secretary Dr J Suresh Babu, Adhyaksha of Imphal West RK Taruni, DC Imphal West Ningthoujam Geoffrey, HODs of various Departments, Officials of various Banks and ZP members attended the function.

A step towards inclusive development Dy CM : Along with the Statewide launch of the "Go to Village" (Khungang Chatse) Mission yesterday, Deputy Chief Minister, Yumnam Joykumar Singh launched the mission at Epathoukok Shanglen at Naoremthong, Ward No.6 organized by Imphal West" district administration.

Speaking at the occasion as chief guest Joykumar Singh said that Go to Village Mission is an initiative taken by the N Biren Singh led Government with an aim to bring inclusive development and reach out to all the people of the State including those who are residing at the most interior areas.

The mission will make the people aware of the various welfare schemes and programmes taken up by the various departments of the Government.

The mission will help the State make way towards faster and inclusive development, he added.

The Deputy Chief Minister further said that various welfare schemes of Government had faced problems in implementation due to lack of awareness among the eligible beneficiaries.

However, by delivering doorstep services', the mission would help in identifying the target beneficiaries who can avail the benefits of the various welfare schemes and programmes launched by the Government.

The mission would be held on every Tuesday at selected wards of IMC/Nagar Panchayat/Municipal Council/ADC on rotation basis, he added.

Khungang Chatse at Thongju: Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh yesterday launched 'Khungang Chatse - Go to Village' mission at Eleven Star Sporting Ground, Akampat ,Torban Kshetri Leikei village in Imphal East with a tree plantation programme.

The sole objective of the mission is to help and uplift the needy and poor people and to bring some positive changes in the State.

Addressing the gathering Biswajit stated that the mission is being launched to improve the livelihood of the villagers and at the same time to provide all the benefits of flagship programmes and State's scheme at the doorsteps of the villagers.

Stating that Aadhaar is an important document and it is needed for registration in every schemes, he urged all to get enrolled for Aadhaar to get benefits of all schemes.

The Minister also announced to arrange Aadhaar seeding free of cost for those left out in Thongju A/C .
