Senapati, April 08 2019:
The Naga people's Organization (NPO), Senapati, in connection with a news item which had been published in most of the State's media houses, has come strongly against the alleged statement made by Ashang Kasar, NEIDP candidate of 2-Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
A press statement issued from the office of NPO stated that one Adani David Choro, former ANSAM president who is also the present vice president of NPO, Senapati with his colleagues visited a place near Broadway Complex, Senapati to oversee the gathering.
They soon left the place having seen the program going on peacefully with little number of people there.
However, the team led by the Vice President of the NPO came back when an ugly scene was reported at the spot to take control of the situation.
The NPO officials reported that it was they who controlled the unidentified youth from worsening the situation and released the particular candidate safe and sound adding had they not returned there, things might have turned out differently.
The press statement mentioned that targeting the vice president of the NPO by the candidate is unfortunate on his part and warned all to be careful while publishing the news in media houses to avoid unnecessary incidents.
In this connection, the NPO had reportedly learnt that the particular candidate had not sought any permission from the District Election Officer to organize such meeting at the district headquarters for which, the NPO stated that they will intimate the ECI office for necessary action for such type of unconstitutional act during election.
