Governor inspects vaccination centres

Imphal, February 08 2022: Governor La Ganesan inspected Covid Vaccination Centres in Kangpokpi and Senapati district today and reviewed the overall preparedness with health and district level officials for maximum coverage under Covid-19 Vaccination Programme.

The Governor was accorded a warm welcome by the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and other district level officials upon arriving at the vaccination centre at Inspection Bungalow (IB) at Kangpokpi district head quarters.

The Governor inspected the facilities provided for the vaccination programme and interacted with students who were waiting their turn to get vaccinated.

He encouraged the students to be the messengers of the vaccination programme so that many people will come out voluntarily to get vaccinated.

He also distributed vaccination certificates, vaccination badges and pens to the students.

Later, the Governor went to Senapati district headquarters where he visited the Covid Vaccination Centre opened at the Mini Stadium.

Governor La Ganesan inspected the facilities provided for the vaccination and interacted with the people there regarding the vaccination programme.

The Governor also enquired about the preparedness, coverage and people's response to the programme.

Deputy Commissioner, Senapati and health officials briefed him about the coverage, preparedness and assured him of covering maximum population in the programme.

The Governor also distributed vaccination certificates to the beneficiaries.

He asked the district administration to communicate with school authorities and Head Masters/Principals calling for their support in order to ensure maximum enrolment of students in the vaccination programme.

Dr N Shyamjai, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Manipur, Chief Medical Officers of Kangpokpi and Senapati districts and other officials attended the inspection.
