Imphal, September 02 2009: The Government of Manipur has today effect a massive reshuffle in the posting and allocation of works of IAS/MCS officers which include omission of the Home Department previously entrusted to the Chief Secretary DS Poonia.

The Manipur-Tripura 1978 batch IAS officer however retains the Planning Department apart from continuing to function as project director of Manipur Development society.

along with the Department of health and Family Welfare, MT cadre of 1990 IAS batch Vumlunmang has been appointed as the Home Commissioner.

The post reshuffling exercise also means principal Secretary PC Lawmkunga will only have MOBC wher-eas the 1979 MT batch officer's earlier department of PHED has been handed over to former Commissioner of Manipur Bhavan (new Delhi) WL Hangshing who will now be the Commissioner PHED.

Ramnganing Muivah also retains the post of Commissioner (Works) with his post of Science and Technology assigned to Imphal west district's Deputy Commissioner A Ibocha Singh.

removal of Planning is the only change effected by the Government order concerning Principal Secretary AN Jha who retained the responsibilities of Finance, Forest & Environment, Principal Secretary to the CM as well as MANIREDA Chairman while shambhu Singh, who was the Commissioner (Election, Hr & Tech Edu) and CEO, Manipur has been transferred as the resident Commissioner, Manipur Bhavan (ND).
