Daily of count over 600 cases continues with 677, 9 deaths reported
Recovered cases near 1 lakh mark with 98,189 discharged

Imphal, August 12 2021:
Manipur continues with the trend of reporting over 600 cases daily with August 12 returning figures of 677 positive cases including five Central security personnel.
On the other hand the number of recovered cases is nearing the one lakh mark with 98,189 people having recovered from the disease as on August 12, 2021 .
The 677 cases were detected while testing a total of 4676 samples in the last 24 hours to return a daily positivity rate of 14.5 pc.
In the month of August, the daily positivity rate has always been above the 12 percent mark with August 11 recording the lowest at 12.2 percent, but just 24 hours later it has returned to the above 14 percent mark.
The State also reported 9 deaths due to the virus in the last 24 hours to take the cumulative number of deaths to 1683.The State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 9 deaths in the last 24 hours, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement and added that out of the total, 6 persons had co-morbidities while 4 of them had received the first dose of the vaccination shot.
The 677 new cases were detected while testing at RIMS (70), JNIMS (25), District Hospitals (436) and other testing centres (146) .
The 672 civilians who tested positive for the virus are from Imphal East (152), Imphal West (283), Thoubal (47), Bishnupur (52), Kakching (15), Ukhrul (16), Churachandpur (49), Chandel (4), Senapati (12), Tamenglong (11), Tengnoupal (1), Jiribam (3), Noney (1) and Kangpokpi (26) .
Necessary measures like containment and contact tracing have been taken up, claimed the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
With the addition of 677 new cases, the cumulative number of positive cases detected in the State has gone up to 1,06,707 including 4,066 Central security personnel.
On the other hand, 690 people were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (261), RIMS (7), JNIMS (15), CCCs (209), CHICs (198).The cumulative number of recovered cases is now 98,189 including 3997 Central security personnel and the number of active cases is 6835 inclusive of 64 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate has increased to 92.01 percent.
On August 11 a total of 10,82 people received their vaccination jabs taking the total of vaccinated folks to 14,24,962 including 2,63,658 people who have received their second dose.
In the last 24 hours 1622 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 315 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
