Death toll rises by 6, 160 test positive

Even as the TPR has further declined to 7.8 per cent as 160 were confirmed positive out of 2055 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, six people died from the virus, pushing the death toll to 2072 .
As per a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the victims belonged to Imphal East (3), Imphal West (1), Bishnupur (1) and Thoubal (1) .
Five of them had co-morbidities, three had taken second dose of Covid vaccine, one had taken first dose but the other two were not vaccinated.
In the meantime, 160 persons including 11 CAPF personnel were confirmed positive at RIMS (15), JNIMS (9) and other testing centres (136) .
The 149 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (38), Imphal West (57), Thoubal (11), Bishnupur (7), Kakching (3), Kamjong (1), Kangpokpi (5), Tamenglong (11), Tengnoupal (2), Ukhrul (12), Noney (2), Senapati (2), Chandel (2) and Churachandpur (7) .
Tengnoupal district logged the highest daily positivity rate of 33.3 per cent followed by Tamenglong 23.4 per cent, Noney 16.7 per cent and Imphal East 11 per cent.
On the other hand, 209 persons who were undergoing treatment have recovered and were discharged from home isolation (171), RIMS (4), JNIMS (6), and CCCs (28) .
The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive people in the State has risen to 1,35,170 (general population 1,30,181 and Central security personnel 4,989) .
This figure includes 3604 active cases (general population 3489 and Central security personnel 115) and 1,29,494 recovered cases (general population 1,24,627 and Central security personnel 4,867) .
The recovery rate as on Tuesday is 95.80 per cent.
A total of 660 D-type oxygen cylinders and 85 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
At present, 71 (out of 300) Covid beds of JNIMS and another 64 (out of 190) of RIMS are occupied.
With 10,436 doses jabbed yesterday, the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 25,85,051 (first dose 14,65,138, second dose 10,78,285 and precautionary dose 41,628) .
Till Monday, 46.06 per cent of the State's total eligible population has been given both the first and second doses of Covid vaccine while 59.67 per cent has received the first dose.
