Monitoring cell to supervise CCCs, 140 test positive

The State Technical Expert Committee on COVID-19 has decided to open a monitoring cell which would supervise treatment of patients in COVID Care Centres set up by the Government.
On the other hand, 140 people including 37 CAPF personnel have been tested positive for the contagion during the last 24 hours.
The State Technical Expert Committee on COVD-19 held a meeting this afternoon and decided to open a monitoring cell.
The meeting also discussed about disposal of unclaimed bodies of COVID-19 victims as well as performance of last rites of people who had died from the contagion.

The meeting decided that last rites of people who had died of COVID-19 would be performed at their respective localities with due approval of the locality while unclaimed bodies would be disposed within 48 hours, sources informed.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 140 people including 37 CAPF personnel were tested positive for COVID-19 during the last 24 hours at RIMS, JNIMS, Raj Medicity, Christian Hospital, Jiribam, Babina Diagnostic Centre, Ukhrul, Thoubal, Churachandpur, Imphal East RAT and Chandel.
The fresh positive cases belong to Imphal West (26), Imphal East (21), Thoubal (17), Ukhrul (8), Senapati (3), Tengnoupal (11), Bish-nupur (1), Kangpokpi (1), Jiribam (9), Churachandpur (5) and Chandel (1) .
Out of the 103 civilians, 97 have no history of travelling outside the State.
Meanwhile, 91 COVID-19 patients have been discharged during the last 24 hours from CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (29), UNACCO (34), JNIMS (2), RD Wing (2), Thoubal (3), CCC Thoubal (17), Tamenglong (3) and CAPF (1) after they were found COVID-19 free.
The total tally of COVID-19 positive cases in the State has risen to 6252 (general public 4655, Central security personnel 1597).This figure includes 1894 active cases (general public 1129, Central security personnel 765) and 4330 discharged cases (general public 3500, Central security personnel 830) .

Meanwhile, sources at Imphal West district administration said 52 new COVID-19 cases have been detected on RAT (Rapid Antigen Test) today.
The 52 cases include 18 from Kodompokpi, 6 from Kakhulong, 5 from Thangal bazar, 1 multi-tasking staff of RD Wing and 1 peon posted at MSPDCL Keishampat.
Six COVID-19 cases have also been detected at Jiribam on RAT while 5 new cases were detected at Thoubal.
A total of 293 samples were tested at JNIMS and 17 COVID-19 positive were detected, said sources.
