Though I am from Manipur, practical speaking I am not Manipuri now since I have been away from home for quite a many years. Practically whatever happens in Manipur does not me directly. However being born and brought from the state and all relatives are still there, my heart burns whenever I think of the happenings in Manipur.

Specially the messing up in Education which is the most vital part of the society, made my heart so painful. Are there no scholars, intellectuals in Manipur who can impart the knowledge to our children? Why so many children are being sent to Delhi every year wasting so much money?

Manipuris are the most brilliant people, we are better than anybody else in every respect. Without depending on 'Mayangs' or 'Westerners' we can produce our own technologies and develop our society like Japan. But then why are we sending our children to outside states , wasting crores of money every year?

Are we too rich that we don't have place to keep our money? It seems like that !
Are there dearth of capable person in Manipur to manage the Education system of such a small state?
Why so much mess up?

To me simple reason is due our so called politicians who mess up everything. Politicians should be visionaries, not only reader and writer, and speak much during an election campaign. He(or She) must be a person fill with passion to serve the poorest of the poor and she must be a person who would be willing to suffer and even die for the cause of his people, not for his chair.

If our Manipur politicians have these qualities, the present problem won't have been there. But our politicians are bereft of such qualities and have only the quality of talking and usurping the chair, and this is the reason that our education system is so messed up like anything in spite of having the best brain in the world.

Its funny that our ministers, MLAs could not even manage the education system of such a small state and so much confusion has been caused. Why there are no books for the children to study? If there is no book how will they study?

Don't they realize that books is essential in education? Or our Ministers think that Manipuri children can just scratch the wall of the school building and get the degree? This is shameful!

What are our oppositions parties doing? Are they sleeping or busy searching money for next election through fake NGOs'? In democracy opposition parties are as important as ruling parties. Opposition leader is as important as the Chief Minister of Manipur.

But this is missing in Manipur. This is their duties to expose all the misdeeds of the Government and take up actions instead of putting the load on the innocent students and underground groups. They must mobilize the people and protest to the government to do what is needful and if the government remain adamant and irresponsible to the peoples' needs and demands , it is their duties to pull them down and hold a new election.

This is the advantage of democracy. But this is completely missing in Manipur politics. That is why the ruling parties maneuver everything according to their opportunist interest forgetting the misery of the public. If the present elected MLAs do not know how to manage such a tiny states affair they should resign immediately and new election should be held.

So that the door may be open for many young and brilliant Manipuris who are willing to come forward and serve the people.
