Waste East
Rojio Usham *
I've drifted from the distant heart;
December's frost killed the winter crop.
The road, but not far enough ahead;
Green lilac buds appear that won't survive.
Down the road, at Eastern Garden,
A woman, I might have happily lived
Had moved past, you notice it
Her slightless eyes horribly watch the air.
Wheezing Kokils, floating on the sky
Astonished that you have to go.
Then I go on beneath an archway
Snaps of ice cracking in the hidden air.
My only thought is for what has
Close at the end of distance
The two chose- Quest and Conquest.
Marked with a dark stroke from the left.
