14 fencers win gold medals on Day 2 of 19th Governor's Cup State Fencing C'ship

Imphal, November 19 2023:
14 gold-medal matches were decided on the second day of the 19th Governor's Cup State Level Fencing Championship 2023 at Indoor Stadium, SAI Takyel, on Sunday.
In the senior women's competition, L Bidyabati and Th Diana won gold medals.
Bidyabati claimed the top podium honour in the epee event as S Chingkheinganbi bagged the silver medal, and Linthoi H and S Nelcyrose shared the third place.
On the other hand, Diana won the sabre event for her yellow metal while L Ambika finished second, and both Muruga Laxmi and Ph Baby completed the top three.
In the cadet group, K Abinash, K Ramakanta and Say-on N clinched gold medals in the boys' category while T Mangaleibi, L Chinglembi and P Ambika claimed gold medals in the girls' category.
Abinash topped the foil event as Kh Rajiv finished second, with K Prithibiraj and S Bicky sharing the third spot.
In the epee event, Ramakanta emerged as the gold winner while Sh Zenith got the silver, and W Nikash and K Dronel both bagged the bronze.
On the other hand, Sayon N secured the gold medal in the sabre event that also saw Saolin N earn the silver while L Bomcha and H Denial took the bronze.
In the girls' category, Mangaleibi won the foil event while L Thoithoi claimed the second place, and both M Geetarani and H Bala bagged the third place.
Chinglembi, on the other hand, sealed the gold medal as Debiya N got the silver, with N Piyanganbi and G Keniya settling for the bronze.
The gold medal in the sabre event went to Ambika while P Baby Diana claimed the silver, and Priya N and A Florina took the bronze.
The mini competition saw N Thoihensana, Jaceyon and Richtopper N clinch gold medals in the boys' category, while Rashina N, Chisilla S and Th Somika won gold medals in the girls' category.
Thoihensana topped the boys' foil event, Shresth O took the silver, and Neilmars and S Shyrus got the bronze.
In the epee event, Jaceyon clinched the gold medal, G Baniba got the silver, and Thoungam H and Derick H took the bronze.
Richtopper emerged as the winner of the sabre event where Ph Winson finished second, and both H Luching and L Khumanlakpa claimed the third place.
On the other hand, Rashina won the girls' foil event that also saw K Shinthanganbi earn the second place, with Ch Pushpa and A Josina bagging the third place.
The gold medal in the epee event went to Chilsilla as Lubiana claimed the silver, and Ksh Romaria and Sonika Rk got the bronze.
Somika secured the gold medal in the sabre event, Apu L took the silver, and Luxmi Kh and W Helniya bagged the bronze.
