National Games medal winning cyclists return to warm receptions

State cyclists who shone at the 36th National Games hosted by Gujarat were given heartwarming receptions upon their return to Manipur today by locals, civil organisations and local representatives.
Khoirom Rejiya from Phubala who won two gold and one bronze medals for Manipur was extended a warm welcome by the All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) today at Kwakeithel office of the association.
Speaking at the occasion, AMUCO president Pheiroijam Nando Luwang said that the performance and grit of Khoirom Rejiya is the manifestation of State players' hardwork and dedication.

It may be noted that Rejiya won gold medals in the 3 km individual pursuit and 4 km team pursuit events and a bronze medal in the omnium race.
AMUCO president, while congratulating the young cyclist , also wished luck in her future endeavours.
Rejiya, born to Khoirom Dilipkumar and Khoirom Ongbi Manileima of Phubala Mamang Makha Leikai, was also given a fine reception Sports Lovers Phubala at Phubala Mamang Leikai community hall.
Elders, local representatives and ex-MLA of Moirang AC also attended the reception programme and congratulated the player besides feting the player with cash incentives.
Speaking at the function, Rejiya expressed happiness that she could win medals for Manipur and promised to work harder to bring more laurels to the State while seeking support from all.
Sonali Mayanglambam :
Sonali Mayanglambam of Kakching Wairi Khullakpam Leikai who won a gold medal and two silver medals at the 36th National Games was accorded a warm reception by family members and well wishers today upon her return.
Sonali, daughter of M Manihar and M Manda Leima won a gold medal in the 4 km team pursuit event and a silver medal each in the 500 m individual time trial and 1 km team sprint event.
Earlier she was received by Naorem Oken of Kongoi Pareng when she arrived at Imphal International Airport before MLA of Kakching AC feted her at Kakching.
Well-wishers also wished her more success in future National and international competitions.
Tongbram Manorama Devi :
Cyclists Tongbram Manorama who also won 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals at the recently concluded 36th National Games was also accorded a warm reception at Patsoi Part II Awang Leikai community hall by various local clubs and organisations including- Patsoi Awang Development Association, Patsoi Pat Women's Welfare Association, Youth Development Organisation, Women's Welfare Organisation Patsoi Part II Mayai Leikai today.
Tongbram Manorama is the youngest of four siblings born to Tongbram Tomba Singh and Tongbram Ongbi Memcha Devi of Patsoi Part II Awang Leikai.
She won gold medals in the 85 km road race and 4 km women's team pursuit along with M Sonali, Kh Rejiya and I Matouleibi ; a silver medal in the 750 m team sprint and a bronze medal in the 10 km scratch race.
