Manipur win 8 medals at KIO All India Sub-Junior Karate C'ship

Imphal, November 19 2023:
Manipur amassed as many as 8 medals including 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze at the KIO All India Sub-Junior Karate Championship held since November 18 at Talkatora Indore Stadium, New Delhi.
Atom Swami of Patsoi Part I and Leishanthem Randy of Thongju Part II won a gold medal apiece in the 12 years boys kata event and 10 year boys -35 kg kumite event respectively today after State lass Lannganbi Soram opened Manipur's medal account by winning two medals including a gold medal yesterday.
Lannganbi Soram won the gold medal in the Kata competition for 8 years and a bronze medal in the -30 kg girls' kumite competition.
Lannganbi, daughter of Soram Chinglen and Soram Milan Leima of Sega Road Takhellambam Leikai trains under Renshi Soibam Bindeshwori Chanu at ISKF Kanglei Shito Ryu Karate Dojo Patsoi Part I .
She is a class III student of RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, North AOC.
The day also saw Anshraj Lisham of SAI, STC Imphal bag a silver medal in the 13 year boys -55 kg kumite event while the other silver medal was fetched by Leishangthem Jackson of Thongju Part II in the 11 years boys -45 kg kumite event.
The athletes who sealed bronze medals today are Shinthoiba Thiyam of Taobungkhok Makha Leikai in the 10 year boys individual kata event and Ronak Puyam of Singjamei Waikhom Leikai in the 9 years boys -25 kg kumite event.
The championship was hosted by Karate Association of Delhi under the aegis of Karate India Organisation.
