Injured Amur falcon rescued

Imphal, September 26 2023:
An Amur falcon has been rescued by Green Foundation (GUF) President and Wildlife Activist Dr Huidrom Romen and Secretary Environment Activist Anish Ahamad and handed over to the Forest Department.
The Amur falcon suspected to be shot by an airsoft gun by hunters was found injured in an area in Imphal East district and was rescued and handed over safely to the Forest & Environment & Climate Change Department, Special Secretary RK Amarjit Singh and staff of the Central Forest Division.
It is worth noting that Amur falcon, the world's longest travelling raptors find their roosting sites in Manipur as part of their annual routine migration.
