CCC, MYSU celebrate Foundation Day

Childrens' Cultural Centre(CCC), Manipur on Saturday organised the "30th Foundation Day celebration and Closing function of 1-Month Children Theatre Workshop cum Production" at the hall of Manipur Dramatic Union (MDU), Yaiskul, Imphal.
The Children Theatre Workshop was conducted under the sponsorship of CMAT of the Department of Art & Culture, Government of Manipur.
The programme was attended by Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Director, Pukhrambam Bilash; Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre Kolkata, Board of Governor's member, Budha Chingtham; Manipur University of Culture, Asst Professor Toijam Shila and CCC founder member Dr Athokpam Kholchandra as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, P Bilash said that Manipur has a rich cultural heritage in terms of art, music and dance, but the present generation is more inclined towards the western art.
He continued that the State Government has taken up various initiatives including the Chief Minister gi Artistessingi Tengbang (CMAT) Scheme to support the artists and revitalize the performing arts of Manipur.
Meanwhile, Manipur Youth and Students' Union (MYSU) also celebrated its 2nd Foundation Day at Yaibilen Children Home in Keibi Sanapat, Imphal East on Saturday.
It was attended by MYSU president Wahengbam Tanu Chanu, Sanaleibak newspaper executive editor Udoy Luwang, MYSU advisor M Amutombi and cultural activist N Nabakanta among others.
As part of the celebration, members of MYSU presented gifts to the young children staying in Yaibilen Chilren Home and shared a feast with them.
The gathering also observed two minutes of silence to pay respect to the brave heroes who gave their lives for the cause of the motherland in the present conflict.
