Bishnupur, September 26 2023: The Jananeta Irawat Memorial Trust, Nambol on Tuesday observed the 72nd death anniversary of Hijam Irawat at Nambol bus parking where a statue of the pioneer leader is erected.

The event was marked by offering of floral tributes to the statue of Irawat and photos of those Meiteis who have been killed in the on-going ethnic clash.

The function was attended by Manipur University retired professor N Joykumar Singh, Celebration Committee, Nambol president M Brajakeshwor Singh and Trade Union Manipur general secretary Sotinkumar Singh as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

Gifts were also presented to Sangeet Natak Akademi Amrit Awardee Haorungbam Bisharop Singh of Nambol Awang Leikai on the occasion.
