72nd death anniv of Irabot observed

Imphal, September 26 2023: Patriotic Forum Manipur in collaboration with the IQAC and Manipur Department of Biramangol College observed the 72nd death anniversary of Lamyanba Irabot at the multipurpose hall of the College on Tuesday.

During the observance, the Lamyanba Irabot Lifetime Achievement Award 2023 was conferred to social activist Langol Iboyaima.

The observance was attended by Biramangol College principal Dr A Surenjit Singh as chief guest, IQAC coordinator Dr Salam Rajesh Singh as guest of honour and Patriotic Forum Manipur president Naoroibam Khamba Luwang as functional president.

Forum vice president P Biprachandra and College's Anthropology Department HOD Dr Naorem Meghachandra spoke on Irabot's role in building nationalism.

As part of the observance, floral tributes were offered to the portrait of Lamyanba Irabot.

Meanwhile, commemorating the death anniversary of Jananeta Hijam Irawat, Irawat Celebration Committee (ICC) Manipur observed 72nd State Mourn Day at Irawat Bhawan here on Tuesday.

A release issued by ICC Manipur informed that the observance was attended by CPI state control commission chairman Langol Iboyaima, state secretary L Thoiren, assistant secretaries, and Nupi Marup leaders among others and paid floral tribute to the statue of Irawat.

The observance was also held at Kakching with ex-MLA Th Tomba, CPI Kakching leaders Dhananjoy and Iboyaima, state secretary L Thoiren and assistant secretary M Joykumar Luwang taking part in the event among others.
