Workshop dissects teaching-learning process

A weeklong workshop on 'Research methodology & teaching-learning process in light of NEP-2020' organised jointly by State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and Manipur University Research and Development Cell commenced from Friday at the multipurpose hall of SCERT, here.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Research and Development Cell director Prof Ch Ibohal Meitei highlighted the need on the part of teachers to teach the students in tune with the changing times by conducting proper research.
While recalling that during earlier times, people from different parts of the world chose for educational enlightenment at various universities in India such as Nalanda and Taksila, he informed that efforts are on at the government level to transform India to a learning hub again.
Reminding the teachers about their roles in ensuring fulfilment of the initiatives, Prof Ibohal said that teachers need to conduct thorough and proper research on teaching and learning process.
Delivering the presidential speech of the programme, SCERT director Dr A Chinglenkhomba Meitei stated that as research and assessment is crucial under National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, teachers of DIET institutions under SCERT should update their knowledge.
He further said that knowing research methodology is a must as research is a basic component for producing learning material.
