Locals protest physical assault by unidentified armed men

Imphal, December 05 2023: Reacting to an incident yesterday wherein one Athokpam Chinglemba Luwang from Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal was physically assaulted by unknown armed miscreants, locals of the area staged a sit-in protest today showing their dissatisfaction.

Speaking by the sideline of the protest, Athokpam (Ongbi) Babita, wife of the assault victim, alleged that the unfortunate incident happened around 12:40 pm yesterday.

She claimed that the unknown persons, some of whom were armed, approached the house and pointed a gun at her husband and proceeded to beat him up.

The distraught wife has made an appeal against such acts of violence which can cause fear among the general public of the area.
