Imphal, September 26 2023:
The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has appealed to the CBI to make public the status report of the investigation into the case of two missing Meetei students who presumably are dead, arrest the killers and hand over their bodies to the respective families at the earliest.
MPCC president K Meghachandra visited the parents of the two students and shared their grief, today.
Speaking to the media by the sideline, the Congress MLA said that two students Luwangbi Linthoingambi Hijam of Tera Tongbram Leikai and Phijam Hemanjit Singh of Takyel Kolom Leikai have been missing since July 6 .
Asking what the Government and its machinery, especially police and Central forces have been doing all this time, K Meghachandra said that the Government has totally failed to protect lives.
It only waits for instructions from the Centre to act, he said.
He went on to ask if the State Government is still functioning.
Even the Prime Minister broke his silence when the video clip of two Kuki women paraded naked became viral.
While the Meeteis also condemned the incident but the two Meetei students who presumably have been killed didn't get the same sympathy, he rued.
