Skill development, livelihood training held

With an aim to provide livelihood for the internally displaced persons (IDPs), Manipur Seva Samiti in association with Seva Bharati Manipur and Humanism Foundation conducted a skill development and livelihood training programme at the relief centre at Mangolnganbi College, Ningthoukhong on Friday.
Senior functionary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Manipur Prant, Laishram Jatra Singh, while addressing the participants, said that life is a journey filled with both highs and lows.
He urged them to draw upon their inner strength and persevere during challenging times.
"One needs to possess both determination and confidence to become a successful entrepreneur.
Today's training is aimed at providing the fundamentals of becoming an agri-entrepreneur with minimal investment," said Jatra, who is also the executive member of RSS, Manipur Prant, while urging all the IDPs taking shelter in the relief camp.
Ningombam Chingkhamba, a successful mushroom grower, who attended the training as special invitee, said that mushroom cultivation is one of the best options to earn livelihood.
Irrespective of one's educational background and social status, anyone can become a successful mushroom grower, he added.
Loushang Farmers Producer Company Limited CEO Hijam Thoiba Singh attended the programme as a resource person and Shared insights into the art of mushroom cultivation and the keys to becoming a successful grower.
RSS Manipur Prant, Bishnupur district functionaries Thokchom Ningthem Singh (Zilla Pracharak), Nameirakpam Somorjit Singh (Zilla Seva Pramukh), Company officials K Bunbun Singh and Nameirakpam Somorjit Singh, and Humanism Foundation managing trustee Dr Wahengbam Rorrkychand Singh also attended the training programme.
