Imphal, July 31 2013:
The Naga Peoples Front, (NPF), Manipur State unit has threatened to take the state government of Manipur to the Court if the honourium for Anganwadi workers are not given at the earliest.
The NPF then has dismissed the much hyped talks on the introduction of Food Security Bill in Manipur as election gimmick.
"For 14 months, honourium of the Anganwadi workers have not been paid by the state government of Manipur and now this same government is talking tall on the Food Security Bill," said the NPF, Manipur State unit and said, "We will not hesitate to take the matter to the law court of these poor Anganwadi workers are not paid." The NPF then said the people in the hill districts are crying in want of food but the state government is busy blowing its own trumpet on construction of roads and bridges.
Due to the farce governance, the hill people are now left with little choice to live a decent life.
