Class X exam begins, seminar conducted

The Class 10 (HSLC) exam, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM), began smoothly in Noney district on Friday at three centres namely Tengkongjang Higher Secondary School, Longmai; Nungba Higher Secondary School, Nungba; and Khangsillung Higher Secondary School, Khoupum.
Altogether, 627 students registered for the board exam but two were absent.
Apart from invigilators, flying squads consisting of 4 members each and five police personnel were deployed at each exam centre by the district administration to ensure smooth conduct of the annual examination.
On the other-hand, Villages Council Longmai Area (VCLA) organised a 'One Day Seminar on Development under The Manipur (Village Authorities in Hill Areas) Act, 1956' on Friday at Longmai Part-3 multipurpose hall, Noney town.
High Court of Manipur advocate Daniel Ramsan, and social activist Ramthing Kasar were resource persons of the seminar also attended by legal experts arid tribal lawyers namely Themreichan Ahumchahong, Wungkath-ing Rungsung and Chandani Gonmei.
The seminar was attended by village authority chairmen, secretaries and members, religious leaders and CSO leaders of Longmai area.
An interaction session was also held with the legal experts.
