YN College adds paramedical courses

In addition to imparting nursing education, YN College under Jivan Hospital, Kakching has added paramedical course from this year onwards.
This was announced by MD of the hospital, Dr Y Ashok Kumar during the 13th foundation day of hospital held at the hospital campus, Kakching Lamdong, here, on Thursday.
The function was also attended by DM University vice-chancellor professor N Rajmuhon, IAS (Retd) RK Nimai and socio-political commentator P Sonamani.
Effluent Treatment Plant, Sewage Treatment Plant and CT Scan machine of the hospital were also inaugurated as a part of the event.
The hospital, which has been instrumental in providing free treatment and ambulance service to people injured in the current crisis, also honoured Impact TV reporter Elangbam Musuk with Outstanding Reporter of the Year 2023-24 in recognition of his coverage of the crisis.
Several doctors, nurses and staff of the hospital were also honoured on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Dr Ashok Kumar highlighted the contribution of the hospital in providing treatment to the people, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic and the current crisis.
He announced that the hospital will now start providing free diagnostic tests for liver, bone and kidney ailments/injuries once every month from the current month.
At the same time, YN College, a constituent of the hospital, which has been imparting nursing education, will start offering several courses including BSc courses in paramedical, MLT, OT Technical, and radiology & imaging science under Manipur University.
The hospital will also provide dialysis service to kidney patients, he added.
