Abemcha's mortal remains laid to rest

The JAC against the 'brutal killing of Leichonbam ongbi Abemcha Leima by Kuki narco-terrorists' has claimed the body of Abemcha after post mortem examination and performed her last rites on Sunday.
Her mortal remains were laid to rest at Kangchup Kharang.
Abemcha Leima was hit by a bullet fired by Kuki narco-terrorists on November 7 near Don Bosco School, Phayeng and passed away on November 16 at RIMS.
The body of Abemcha was received by the JAC and family members after conducting post mortem examination at RIMS.
Many people also arrived at RIMS mortuary to claim the body, which was taken to her birth place in Kangchup Kharang in a procession from RIMS.
On the way along Uripok-Kangchup road, people from many localities came out and stood on both sides of the road and showered flowers to the passing procession carrying the body of Abemcha.
Before reaching Kangchup Kharang, the body was taken to the Phayeng High School Relief Camp where she had taken shelter and people offered floral tributes.
At Phayeng bazar too, people offered floral tributes as a mark of respect.
Her body was finally laid to rest at her native village in Kangchup Kharang.
Abemcha had left her husband, two daughters (17 and 13 years of age) and a three years' old boy.
She along with her family members had to run for their lives after armed Kuki-narco terrorists attacked their village, and stayed at the Phayeng High School relief camp.
However, Abemcha sustained bullet injuries after the Chin-Kuki narco terrorists attacked Meitei villagers in Kanchup Chingkhong on November 7.She succumbed to injuries at RIMS on November 16.Meanwhile, JAC convenor Nungleppam Bobby has warned of intense agitation along with the public if the demands of the JAC which the chief minister had assured to honour is not translated into action within 3 days.
Bobby further stated that the JAC was not formed with any personal motive but to press the state government to take up strong measures to control the Kuki armed militants from attacking the Meitei villages and prevent killing of innocent Meiteis.
