Kuki militants launch attack at three locations

Imphal, February 08 2024:
Suspected Kuki militants launched attacks using bombs and automatic weapons in three different locations under Imphal East and West districts.
According to sources, Kuki militants attacked the 6th MR post at Senjam Chirang by firing bombs around 5.30 pm on Wednesday.
In the attack, kitchen and some other areas of the camp were damaged.
However, there was no report of any casualty or injuries.
Later around 11 pm, Kuki militants rained bombs and bullets from the top of Haraothel Ching.
Subsequently, security forces along with Meetei village volunteers retaliated resulting in heavy exchange of fire that continued till around 9 am Thursday.
As bullets pierced through roofs of houses, people fled to safer places.
The attack resumed from around 11 am and the firefight lasted till 5 pm.
Again, Kuki militants launched attack from around 7 pm with exchange of gunfire continuing till late evening.
Yet, there is no report of any injury or casualty.
Similarly, Kuki militants launched attack from two sides at Singda Kadangband Part 1 under Imphal West district around 6.30 pm on Thursday.
Moreover, intermittent gunfight between Kuki militants and Meetei village volunteers continues at Itham Moirangpurel.
However, there is no report of any casualty and injury till the time of filing this report.
