IRCS extends aid

In continuation of their consistent effort to provide assistance to displaced families uprooted from their homes by the ongoing conflict, the Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch has distributed relief materials in family packs at four different locations today.
According to a press release issued by Premjit Naoroibam, Media Coordinator, IRCS, Manipur, the IRCS, Manipur State Branch has distributed family pack relief materials to 34 displaced families at Wangkhei High School Relief Camp; 42 families at Sports Hostel No 12 Khuman Lampak Relief Camp; 50 families at Biramangol College, Sawombung and 52 families sheltering at Community Health Centre, Nongada.
These folks have reportedly fled their homes in Churachandpur, Imphal East, Kangpokpi, Kakching and Bishnupur.
The family pack consists of one hygiene kit, a kitchen set, a woolen blanket and a mosquito net.
Notably, Dr RK Nimai, retd IAS, IRCS advisor; Narendra Ningomba, State Chairman, IRCS/MSB, A Nabachandra, secretary, IRCS/MSB; Dr Sunil Senjam, managing committee member, National HQ along with IRCS/MSB volunteers partook in the event.
The event was kicked off with a one-minute silence to honour the martyrs who laid down their lives for Manipur.
The gathering also offered prayers to restore peace and normalcy in the State.
