Search ops continue, weapons recovered

Imphal, November 19 2023:
Joint teams of central and state forces conducted search operations on Sunday and recovered huge cache of weapons from various places.
According to a police report, on receiving reliable input, a combined team of Kakching district commando and Kakching Police Station conducted a search operation along Kakching Mantak ITI Panmamei Road from 4am till 6.10am on Sunday and recovered several weapons which were found hidden in the area.
The team recovered two .303 rifles with magazines, one local made 9mm pistol with magazine and three 36-HE hand grenades.
The seized items have been handed over to Kakching PS for further course of legal action.
Meanwhile, on receipt of reliable information about some weapons being stashed in Gwarok Reserved hill range southeast of Pechi in Thoubal district, a combined team of special operation group, 33 Assam Rifles and Thoubal district commando searched the area from 4am till 6.30am on Sunday and recovered two factory made pistols with magazines, one country made pistol with magazine, five 36-HE hand grenades, two 80 (WP) grenades, seven 9mm rounds, three 5.56mm rounds, and fifteen 7.62mm rounds.
The recovered items have been handed over to Yairipok PS for further legal action.
On the other hand, a joint team of Churachandpur district police and 46 AR conducted a search operation at Lungjang village under Behiang PS at around 7am on Sunday and recovered one AK47 with magazine and two .303 rifles with magazines.
