MTU urges all to join mass missed call campaign

As a part of their ongoing movement demanding the inclusion of the Meitei/Meetei in the Scheduled Tribe list of the Indian Constitution, the Meetei/Meitei Tribe Union (MTU) while setting to launch "Mass missed call campaign for the inclusion of Meetei/Meitei in Scheduled Tribe list of Indian constitution" campaign, has appealed to all the sections of the society to take part in the campaign.
Addressing media persons at its Soibam Leikai Wangkhei Khunou office, here, on Saturday, MTU secretary (administration) Mutum Churamani said that the Union will organise the month long campaign from November 20 in association with Kangleipak Kanba Lup (KKL), World Meetei Council (WMC), Salai Kanba Lup (SKL) and Scheduled Tribe Demand Committee Manipur (STDCM).
He further stated that during the campaign any individual and supporters may give a missed call at 8732042511 .
They will be greeted with a voice message requesting to forward one's name and address.
The individual needs to send the details which is mentioned in the SMS.
Stating that the campaign targets a response from at least 5 lakh individuals to support the movement for the inclusion of Meetei/Meitei in the scheduled tribe list, Churamani said that there are around IS lakh Meetei/Meitei people but all of them do not use mobile phones.
The details recorded during the campaign will be used as proof to show the number of supporters to their demand.
Representatives of KKL, WMC, SKL and STDCM were also present during the press briefing.
