Imphal, August 24 2015:
United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) on Monday said that the statement of Munthuireng Aimol, a "self-styled president" of Aimol Tribe, published in some local dailies on the August 24 levelling allegations against the outfit was totally baseless.
According to a statement released by UKLF Information and Publicity secretary MP Haokip, Manglun @ Walunglua Aimol was neither a cadre nor a PRO of the outfit but he is an innocent Aimol civilian who upholds the neutrality of Aimol tribe.
And, there is another PRO of the UKLF in the area other than Manggi Aimol, an elder brother of Munthuireng Aimol.
As such, the allegations made by Munthuireng Aimol are untrue and fabricated.
The statement further clarified that UKLF was not involved in the incident which took the life of Ruisoting Aimol besides injuring three other women on May 13, 2015 as alleged by the "self-styled Aimol president" .
The unfortunate incident was purely the handiwork of 20 AR personnel led by Maj Aditya Kapoor of E' Coy.
Therefore, the allegation by Munthuireng Aimol that UKLF was involved in the incident is also totally groundless, it claimed.
"Being a SoO signatory, UKLF always sticks to the Ground Rules in letter and spirit.
Therefore, there is no question of our involvement in any situation which is outside the purview the SoO agreement with the Government.
The organization has never indulged in harassing any community but it has strived for re-unification of Kuki ethnic group and maintained peaceful co-existence with all the neighbouring communities," the outfit said.
UKLF urged all the individuals or organizations not to be misled by such fabricated allegations and cheap propaganda of Munthuireng Aimol.
The outfit said it will not remain a mute spectator, if any individuals or organizations make such fabricated and misleading allegations with the intention to tarnish the good image of UKLF in future.
