Imphal, July 30 2020:
As a part of the measures taken up by the State Government to stop the spread of COVID-19 infection, State police are making every effort to enforce the complete lockdown effectively, discharging their duties as an important part of frontline warriors.
Police personnel are deployed in every nook and corners of all the district headquarters in order to prevent people from loitering around.
Since early morning police personnel could be seen conducting random checkings at various points in Imphal.
Those who came out without valid reasons were detained and even fined.
Morning joggers were also made to return home.
Police using loudspeakers asking shopkeepers not to open shops in all the localities was common at all the localities of Imphal.
Police were also seen dispersing people who were gathered in groups at local community halls and playgrounds.
Eight individuals were detained by the police this morning at Tera Bazar for violating the lockdown but were later released after they were fined.
