Thoubal, June 13 2015 : National Programme for Control of Blindness (NPCB) in association with District Health Society, Thoubal and Shija Hospital and Research Institute, Langol conducted a one-day cataract detection camp at Primary Health Centre (PHC), Thoubal Leishangthem today, our correspondent reports.

Out of a total 200 persons screened during the camp, 42 were detected with cataract.

The patients would be provided free cataract surgery at Shija hospital on June 25, District Nodal Officer, NPCB Thoubal Dr Ksh Memcha Devi stated.

NPCB, Thoubal has conducted similar free eye detection camps at Yairipok, Kakching and Lilong.

About 100 patients have been provided free cataract surgery at Shija Hospital through the camp.
